you look absolutely precious! glad you had a great night out...sometimes it makes you MORE excited to be home again with your precious 4some!

Erin

It looks like it was a fun time. I completely understand how you feel, which is why J and I get most of our "dates" when we have lunch together once a week or so during the school year. Since we'd otherwise be sitting in our respective offices and not with the kids anyway, we try to really prioritize doing that. Otherwise, I have very little interest in getting a babysitter when we could be spending time with the boys!

They will be out WAY too soon. P starts kindergarten next year, and I'm already teary about it!

Glad you had a nice night out. You look BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes I feel the same way about leaving my kids; especially since I am away with them during the week while I work. I just feel they are away from me long enough. But now that they are bit older (3 and 5), I know that my marriage also deserves attention so we try to make sure we have a date night once a month. My kids enough going over to a friends house (we kid swap to save on babysitting) and are usually awake for a few hours while we are away.

You look like you had a fantastic time!

Tanya

I totally feel the same way about leaving the kiddo. Right now I'm making a point of getting out without him only because I worry about it being even harder for him when I go back to work next month if I don't ever leave him with someone else... so for the past 5 weeks I've gone to cake decorating class. I'm gone about 3 hours once a week. The rest of the time we spend together because frankly there is nowhere I'd rather be.

It's a tough balance - being a person and a parent all at the same time.

I'm glad you had a good time! Remember, if Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy, so be sure to take care of yourself.

Apparently I'm still addicted to some of you - I'm checking in from Cambodia! With a rum and coke in hand of course...

Sista, I think you're skinnier again. Bitch;-)

When I have been away from Daniel I have noticed that before I left I was giddy with excitement about getting away, but after I left I found myself thinking about him the whole time. Thank goodness Jim and the babysitters text so I can get a quick check in without calling.

Glad you had fun!

Kirby

Yeah for you! Look how good you look! I hope that the balancing act gets easier (and that when it's my turn, I can do as well as you have).

Hooray for having a life - even when you can stop thinking about your kids!

Jessica

just for those photos, I'm beginning to forgive you for not taking me... :)
LOVE YOU!!

Here you are, a ROCK STAR Momma, going to a rock concert!

(Okay, the Indigo Girls might not qualify as a *rock* concert, but still, you get my point!)

Good for you, you look so happy :-)

Fantastic photo!! (And I am so jealous you got to see Indigo Girls! They are my favorite, and are so awesome in concert.)

It is a tough balance doing the mother/self thing. I applaud you for being fo selfless.
